THE STORY BEHIND

The Rebirth of a Legacy: The Excellence of French Savoir-Faire.

The Bicentennial Heritage and the Cradle of World Art.

For over 200 years, the Massier dynasty has shaped the history of artistic ceramics in Europe. Experiencing its golden age on the French Riviera, the family captivated royalty and the intellectual elite of the Belle Époque, collaborating with Queen Victoria and welcoming illustrious guests to its studios, including Victor Hugo and George Sand.

It is in this same sacred earth of Vallauris, the golden cradle of artistic ceramics, that Pablo Picasso later sealed the town's destiny forever, settling there to reinvent ceramic sculpture during the final decades of his life. The year 1889, marked by a Gold Medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition, anchors Maison Massier at the summit of this timeless heritage.

Cédric Massier, the Epitome of French Savoir-Faire

Today, Cédric Massier, great-grandson of Delphin, perpetuates this exceptional craftsmanship. A graduate of the legendary Vallauris School of Fine Arts and a specialist in the arts of fire, he has established his own signature in the world of contemporary luxury. From collaborations with Philippe Starck to exclusive creations for the Emir of Qatar, his career is marked by monumental achievements. As a curator, he notably honored his family's legacy with a major exhibition that gathered 40,000 visitors around breathtaking sculptures standing over four meters high.

After falling in love with Mauritius over a decade of stays on the island, he decided to create his new workshop in this little gem.
